Kamp Kreated

Less than a week after meeting Klaus at Hendrickson Foundation Festival on Jun 4th, Coach Coonan was so inspired by Klaus Friedrich during their ice time together that he created the concept for Kamp Klaus. The idea would be to pair on-ice programs for typical hockey players with that of Klaus’s, given he possesses high cognitive ability and hockey IQ despite playing in an atypical “frame”.

The objective would be three-fold: develop, empower and philanthropy. By allowing both categories of hockey players from differing gameplay to develop their skills concurrently during summer, we help empower of both circles. Our overarching hope is that we can teach our high-level players (Klaus’s Krew) about the importance of charity work while appreciating the physiological gifts that they were given - no matter their skill level, their place within the hockey development cycle or even their daily performance levels at the rink.
